Right thing to do?: First decide if its the right thing to do. Taper to the lowest possible dose. Will have withdrawal symptoms even at the lowest dose but be less intense. Your doctor can prescribe various short-term medications to help deal with specific symptoms of withdrawal. There is no right or wring answer and do not hesitate to incorporate things such as acupuncture and other holistic measures.

Tapering: with film, cut it in half & drop the other half in ziplock bag and keep safe. then a couple weeks later you can go to using 1/2 every other day x 2-4 weeks then stop. the most important thing is managing your anxiety about stopping - if you are in a panic about it then it won't go smoothly. you are on a low dose already and decreasing further should be no different than prev decreases. go to NA.
