Angiokeratomas: These are probably not blood blisters, but rather angiokeratomas (of fordyce). You can read more about them here: http://dermnetnz.Org/vascular/angiokeratoma.Html there is probably no good way to prevent them as they are genetic, but there are good treatments. He should see a dermatologist who will help guide him.
