Check preg test: Brown usually means old blood that has been sitting at the back of the uterus or the vagina. Impossible to say if this was an early period or just left over blood from the previous. It sounds like you just had an off month. Check a pregnancy test now. If you do not want to be pregnant see your doctor for birth control which would also give you cycle regulation.
