Teething?: When babies start cutting teeth, they often start drooling a lot. If they are also chewing on things more than usual, then it's highly likely this is just teething.

Teething time: Increase production of saliva would be noticed when the baby is teething. It is normal reaction. The baby also may be a bit more fussy , crying a bit more etc. Give comfort to your baby- teething toys to chew/bite, teething tablet or teething gel may help as well.

Likely teething: It is not uncommon for children at that age to exhibit a lot of drooling while teething. This is the most likely reason for extra saliva and not a reason for concern. Consult a pediatric dentist if there are more concerns.

Teeth are coming: Extra saliva during teethin is very normal. He/she is about to cut their first primary molars, they are big and cause the mouth to make lots of lubrication. It will subside after the these molars errupt.

Many possibilities: Some babies salivate excessively when getting a new tooth. You may also see other changes such as poor sleeping, irritability and/or chewing on anything they can get in their mouth. Ibuprofen typically will help revieve pain better than tylenol (acetaminophen). Ibuprofen mey help sleeping if given about 30 minutes prior to naps or bedtime. The salivation may be a result of something else as well. See a pediatric.

Teething: Most likely your baby is teething. They are the right age to be getting their first primary molars. Extra saliva is normal during teething. You can give them a frozen washcloth to chew on (take a damp washcloth and place it is he freezer). The cold numbs the gums and the chewing will help the tooth cut through.
