Costocondral pain: The cause of the pain depends on whether or not there is swelling at the site of the pain, if it was initially associated with an infection or physical trauma, and a few other things. Try naproxsyn sodium (aleve) to see if it helps with your pain, and talk to your physician to narrow the list further.
