Withdrawl bleed: The purpose in bring on a period is to prevent a long time of stimulation to the tissue inside of the uterus (endometrium). This can result in hyperplasis and possibly an increaseed risk of endometrial cancer.

Withdrawal bleed: It depends upon the circumstances, but generally it is to "clean out" the uterine lining (endometrium). If the endometrium's growth goes unchecked, it will cause abnormal uterine bleeding and coup lead to cancer.

Withdrawal bleed: The uterus undergoes hormonal changes if your cycles are regular or normal. Your body initially produces estrogen and Progesterone in the second half of your cycle. If you do not get a period, giving you Provera (medroxyprogesterone) or Progesterone will try to mimic this regularity. If you develop bleeding after taking Progesterone it only means that your uterus has been primed with estrogen.
