Glasses and Contacts: Glasses can be used over contact lenses to fine tune a prescription if necessary. You are extremely nearsighted if your prescription is -18. Contacts can correct most of the nearsightedness, and then residual astigmatism or even more nearsightedness can be corrected with glasses. The optical effect with this combination would be much better than glasses alone.
