Can you add miralax (polyethylene glycol) to thickened liquids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should be Okay: I do not believe that MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) would decrease the thickness of liquids but i would test a small amount to make sure. The purpose of thickening liquids is to prevent problems with swallowing or aspiration. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) works to help soften stools by allowing more water to be retained in the colon (large intestine) - which is further down the digestive tract. Contact medical provider for any concerns.
