Real Rx: This is the 21st century and acne can be treated. If benzoyl peroxide and the less-effective over-the-counter remedies have failed, your physician may offer you the oral contraceptive pill if it's appropriate, or i start with topical Clindamycin with either benzoyl peroxide, or a retinoic acid derivative. Next step is an appropriate systemic antibiotic; this usually works for a female. Good luck.
