Get it treated: It is a virus and probably has nothing to do with food. If it is treated early, some of the damage will be avoided. See a doctor asap for medication other wise it will be there for a couple of weeks. Best wishes, .

Only slightly : Oral herpes is caused by a virus and is contagious. It has nothing to do with what you eat. Acyclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection. It works best once started early, before the lesions really develop much.
