It depends: Any peak flow results that are below 80% of your "personal best" are grounds for concern and need immediate action. If any readings ever dip to 50% or less (your "red" zone), you need to go to the er immediately. You should follow your own "action plan" (rescue inhaler, then inhaled or oral steroids). If you are very breathless after the inhaler or your lips are bluish, go to the er asap.

See your doctor: How you feel is much more important than your peak flow. If your breathing is uncomfortable and your albuterol inhaler doesn't help, you need to see your doctor or go to an urgent care clinic.
