Hsg: I would recommend an hsg if you have never got pregnant. Also a semen analysis if he has never got anyone pregnant. This will help rule out frequent obstacles that can interfere with fertility treatment.

Infertility: 8 years is a long time -- i would recommend an evaluation with a reproductive endocrinologist (infertility specialist). A quick search didn't give me any specialists in your area; a general ob/gyn can point you in the right direction. Matthew scroggs md is in your area and a former colleague of mine.
