Coming 4 days after: I would say it is probabely safe as it came 4 days after the periods and there was contact without penetration.But having said that there is very small risk statistically of getting pregnant.

Probably: It depends on what you mean by "safe". There are no risks associated to either party with intercourse during menstruation. This assumes of course that both partners are free of sexually-transmitted infections. Pregnancy can still occur, even with intercourse during menstruation, so both in terms of protecting yourself from std and preventing unwanted pregnancy, sex with condoms is the safest.
