Yes: Toothpain with swollen glands (lymph nodes) are often associated with an infected tooth. Medication won't cure this. See a dentist first.

ASAP: The sooner the better. Pain medication merely controls the pain and does not resolve the cause. Infections can spread and result in serious complications. It is always better to treat problems before they result in bigger ones.
