Yes: Take a test just because you do not have period does not mean you do not ovulate - you might be pregnant already.

Take a test: Over the counter pregnancy tests are cheap and very reliable. If it is negative then you may start birth control. If positive then call you doctor to schedule your pregnancy appointment.
