Very small chance: Studies have shown that the rate of failure with laproscopic tubal ligation as well as the tubal sterilization performed at the time of cesarean increases with the number of years past since the operation performed. The numbers become significant after 10 years following the operation. We suspect that the newer tubal sterilization via essure has a lesser chance of long term failure.
