SNRI: Effexor(venlafaxine) is a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Like Cymbalta ( duloxetine) it may be effective for chronic pain as well as depression and anxiety. Both are generally tolerated well, but Effexor is available as generic and Cymbalta is not.
