Eliminate poisons.: Keep all medicines, vitamins, cleaning fluids, and other chemicals locked away. Buy medicines in containers with safety caps. Do not put poisons into drink bottles, glasses, or jars. Put the poison center number on all phones (1-800-222-1222).

Eyes open: It would be very easy to say just childproof your home, but if you ever work much with 2 year olds, you also know they figure out anything such as locks, baby gates, various door knobs. ! So your best bet are two things...first, be watching them...actually looking at what they are doing so you can intervene if they're IN trouble. Second, have one room in your house that is TOTALLY CHILDPROOFED!
