Protein in urine: Protein (or precisely albumin) in urine indicates injury to glomeruli (filtering part of nephron in kidney). It can be detected by simple dipstick. Or by random urine protein to creatinine ratio or 24 hour urine collection. 30-300 mg is microalbuminuria and >300 mg is macroalbuminuria.
