Are there precautions i should take before eating meat while i'm pregnant?

Yes: You want to make sure you are not going to get sick from consumption. The meat should be fresh and preferably cooked. However people all over the world eat sushi, tartar, etc without any problems. Uncooked meat and fish is not banned during pregnancy but you want to make sure it is prepared properly.

Yes: Make sure any meat that you eat is well-cooked. Deli meats should be microwaved until steaming hot before consumption. Keep areas of food preparation in your home free of cross-contamination--never use the same cutting surfaces for raw meats and vegetables or other foods.

Yes: Make sure any meat you eat is cooked thoroughly. This doesn't have to mean everything is burned beyond belief however. We generally recommend medium at restaurants to make sure it is cooked.
