Infection vs veins: Hemorrhoids are dilated veins at the anus. Sort of analogous to varicose veins. Anal herpes would be an infection with a form of herpes virus.

Major: Hemorrhoids are distended veins, an anatomic defect, while herpes is a viral infection. The two are not even close to being either physically or physiologically similar.
