Prescriber dependent: Dosage and duration of silymarin depends on the reason for your hepatotoxicity. The studies I have read dosage has ranged from 20 mg/kg to 33 mg/kg body weight, duration ranging from 3 to 8 weeks. Studies are mixed in showing efficacy from robust response to no response, as shown in a large study published in jama july edition on response to slymarin in patients suffering hep c. Talk to your doc.
