Imaging the testes.: A scrotal ultrasound uses sound waves to visualize the structures of the scrotum, including the testicles, spermatic cords & epididymides. A probe is used in a sweeping motion across the scrotum and groin to create the images. Many standard images are taken, along with measurements & doppler evaluation. Testicular tumors, fluid collections, infection & torsion can be visualized using the test.

Ultrasound: The examination employs a transducer probe placed gently and externally on the scrotum. Ultrasound images of the scrotal contents are obtained, as the probe is moved to different parts of the scrotum. The testes, epididymis, spermatic cord are visualized. The vascularity of the organs are evaluated. Pathology such as tumors, abscesses, and torsion are diagnosed or excluded. It's safe and simple.
