Branching airways: The bronchial tree starts with the trachea in the neck then divides in a y shape in the mediastinum to each lung and from then on successfuly branches into tubes of smaller and smaller caliber until they become bronchioles which ultimatly terminate in a group of air sacs or alveoli.
