Most OTC cold meds: Over-the-counter medicines for colds are ok while breastfeeding, as long as one follows the labels' instructions, stays below maximum doses, and is not using more than one medicine of each type. Fever/pain reducers include Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Motrin. Cough meds include Robitussin (some people use DM, some avoid it). Decongestant/antihistamine include Claritin-D, Zyrtec-D, Benadryl +/- phenylephrine, Sudafed.

Yes: Pseudoehedrine is generally considered safe during breadtfeeding and very likely most effective for cold symptoms. It has been shown to possible decrease milk production though, so drink lots of water or fluids to help. It should only be used for short term, which most colds are. Phenylephrine is definitely safe and no effect on milk supply, but no terribly effective.

Yes: Chicken soup is medically effective, as are most of those support care measures grandma always talked about such as lots of fluids, rest, keeping warm, etc.
