Tendinitis: . Infection. Gout, inflammation and nerve compression all can be very painful in the involved tissues. Ice, splinting and nsaids are a decent general treament but a proper evaluation and diagnosis is needed.

Old trauma: You wrist pain can be caused by structures around the wrist , such as a sore tendon. It may be caused by old wrist trauma that is now becoming a problem.. Splint the wrist a few days and, if you are not allergic to them, start Aspirin or a non steroidal such as Ibuprofen . If you pain persists, see you doctor.
