Psoriatic arthritis?: Horizontal ridging of nails may indicate psoriasis. The london criteria accept five nails (hands) with psoriaform findings. This would be the first thing that comes to mind, especially if you or family members have psorasis, seborrhea, or eczema. Someone in rheumatology can best adress this issue!
