Throat or food pipe: Food stuck in the throat is a physical phenomenon that can be caused by a number of factors, such as a throat/swallowing problem or a food pipe problem. A primary care doctor may help figure this out. Food pipe problems best evaluated by a gastroenterologist, swallowing problems best evaluated by an ENT physician (otolaryngologist).
