Why? and No!: Why do you want to take antibiotic? Did you just pull it yourself? Baby tooth? Did a dentist extract it? In either case, it is not a good idea to take antibiotics unless prescribed by a dentist or physician, and in that case they would prescribe the proper type, dosage and frequency. Doxycycline would be a bad choice anyway.

Are you infected?: Why take an antibiotic if you don't have an infection? If you are having a problem with your extraction then call your dentist.

Why?: You could take Doxycycline after a tooth is pulled but it is not the first choice as it does not cover the usual suspected bacteria to infect such a wound. If fact, once the tooth is removed an antibiotic usually is not necessary.

Spreading Infection?: If you had a spreading infection before the extraction, then you should be on an antibiotic. Doxycycline would not be my first choice. If there was no infection before or now then you shouldn't need the antibiotic.
