See your dentist: I'm a little unclear as to exactly what your question is asking. What exactly is painful? It could be a sore spot the denture is rubbing which your dentist could adjust, or if the over denture is sitting on teeth (as opposed to implants), there could be a problem with the teeth. Either way, this is something a dentist would need to see to accurately diagnose.

Dentist needed: I completely agree with dr. Shank. When were your overdenture made and when was your last check-up? It could be something as simple as a sore spot from irritation to your gums from the overdenture or something more serious related to your teeth or implants below. See your dentist who can determine the cause of your discomfort and do what is necessary to correct the problem.
