Any time while awake: If the cord is shriveled & dry or has fallen off. Playing in prone position, moving around brightly-colored toys ( esp. Red ones with a " face") promotes her lifting her head to 90 degrees by 2 mos., head & chest up by 4 mos. Talk & read to her when you cuddle. Wipe out her mouth with a soft cloth after the last feed. Always put her on her back in her own crib, drowsy but awake, to fall asleep.
