Conjunctivitis: Your description sounds like conjunctivitis which is likely bacterial or viral. See your eye doctor.

Conjunctivitis : Sounds like a conjunctivitis, likely viral with associated febrile illness. A trip to the ophthalmologist will help to distinguish the infection viral from bacterial. Proper cleansing of the lashes, and care not to contaminate the other eye is important. Tylenol (acetaminophen) as directed for the fever. Ocassionally a broad spectrum antibiotic eye medication is prescribed depending in the situation.
