Serious vs non: Migraines are commonly one sided. Occipital neuralgia (occipital nerve irritation, impingement, neck arthritis) in the back of the head/neck, is another common cause. Cluster headaches could be a cause especially with eye tearing and stuffy nose. Myofascial pain too. Less commonly but more serious are aneurysms. Therefore, to rule out the bad things, you should see your doc, and maybe a neurologis.
