Legumes and beans: Combining a legume with a whole grain is the cheapest and most economical and healthiest way. The indians made succotash with corn and lima beans. Mediteraneans eat chicpeas (hummus) and bread ( wheat). Fruits and vegetables should be included in part of a healthy diet, however, beans and legumes do not perish as easily.
