Possibly: Your best course of action is to be honest with your doctor on your opiate intake. From there, your doctor can start tapering your dose of medicine so you have a lesser chance of going thru withdrawal. Do not stop 'cold turkey' as you may possibly precipitate narcotic withdrawal.

You did the 1st step: You did the major step realizing that you got addicted. Now it is time to discuss it with your physician and then with your family. You will need support system while tapering the medication down. Best to find psychiatrist specializing in addiction treatment.
