Had lower colon resection and still have pain when "going" after 8 months. fiber has helped to "soften" stool and the pain. pain ok after 8 months?!

Possibly: If the pain is chronic in nature - no new changes in past few days - and you do not have fever or decreased bowel movements acutely over past few days, this is probably a chronic issue you need to discuss with your family doc or surgeon. If there has been a recent increase in pain or decrease in bowel movements accompanied by nausea/vomiting, you need emergent medical evaluation.
