Yes it can : Because lack of social interaction and lack of attention and communication and unresponsive to verbal commands are found in people with hearing loss any child expected to have autism should have hearing assessment to r/o hearing problems.

Yes: Yes as my colleagues have agreed.I once had a patient misdiagnosed due to english as a 2nd language problems at 4-5 y/o.Now a staight a 14 y/o.In usa, hearing screening at birth is the routine to pick up birth defects.
