Atopic: Itching may occur in cold weather due to skin dryness. Another common cause is atopic diathesis causing itching & eczema and sometimes asthma or hay fever. Avoid scratching and friction, apply mineral oil based moisturizer after shower. Do not rub too hard with a towel, rather pat-dry only.
