Had scapholunate reconst. 3 weeks ago. my hand is still swollen. my concern is when the swollen area is pushed an indention remains. am i dehydrated ?

Pitting edema: Your swelling is simply a post-surgical findings and not related to hydration. Bilateral pitting edema in the extremities may indicate congestieve heart failure or a central vascular problem but yours is most likely simply post surgical swelling. If it becomes warm or red beware of infection.

Swelling is normal: Scapholunate reconstruction is a major surgery. Although at 3 weeks the majority of the swelling should have resolved. You describe pitting edema (severe fluid retention). Keep your hand elevated, move your fingers and use cold compresses to decrease the swelling. I do not think you are dehydrated, just localized swelling from surgery.
