Egg donation: Egg donation is a treatment option for women who cannot get pregnant using their own eggs. A donor, typically anonymous and between the ages of 21-29, undergoes ovarian simulation and collection of her eggs. These eggs are fertilized with patient's partner sperm. Embryos that result are transferred into patient's uterus. Therefore the patient carries and delivers the pregnancy.

Egg Donation: For women who have failed multiple ivf cycles, who may have pof (premature ovarian failure), poor egg quality or those who are of advanced maternal age (between 43-50 years old), donor eggs are an option when seeking another path towards motherhood. It has some advantages over adoption: by utilizing an egg donor the recipient can have a biologic child, although it will be genetically different.
