What is the definition or description of: pth intact and calcium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

84 amino acids PTH: Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a 84 Amino Acid hormone which is important in regulating blood calcium levels. Intact indicates the full 84 Amino Acid hormone. There are fragments of the hormone also in the blood. Pth and calium are measured at the same time to determine if there are abnormalities of parathyroid function. For example a low level of hormone may cause a low calcium level.
