Parkinson's: Dbs consists of an electrical stimulator which connects to areas of the brain called the basal ganglia. Can be used to control deteriorating parkinson's patients, severe essential tremors, and is being evaluated in a variety of neurological movement disorders. Is not a cure but an additional treatment intervention.

DBS: Deep brain stimulators are used in the treatment of parkinson's and tremors. A person is scanned with a MRI or ct frame on their head. A burrhole is then made and a stimulator wire is passed into a precise deep brain target. This is connected to a stimulator which placed under the skin. They are very expensive but do work very well.
