Lack of lubrication: Dry eye syndrome is when the surface of the eye becomes dry due to not producing enough tears or if they evaporate too quickly from the surface of the eye.

Inadequate tears: An eye with dryness does not have enough tears for proper lubrication or sometimes has the wrong tear composition to provide the best eye health. Many are spontaneous, age related sometimes, or related to eye surgery and conditions. Your ophthalmologist can evaluate this to provide the best treatment.
