Unconscious Conflict: Somatoform disorders are a group of conditions wherein individuals unconsciously manifest psychological &/or physical symptoms typically in the setting of an underlying conflict (usually outside their conscious awareness). These conditions include, but are not limited to, conversion disorders, somatization disorder, pain disorder, etc. It is important to avoid iatrogenic injury in these individual.
