Scaphoid : The scaphoid or navicular sits below the trapezium and distal to the radius on the thumb side of the carpus or wrist. It spans the proximal and distal carpal row and flexes and extends depending on wrist position subjecting it to a lot of motion. When fractured the los supply can be an issue and the rate of non union is higher than for similar wrist bones . A scaphoid fracture needs a specialist.
