Walnut allergy: Walnut allergy is an immune mediated allergic reaction to the walnut molecule itself that can cause multiple symptoms including hives, itch, swelling, breathing issues, cough, wheeze, vomiting, or diarrhea. Some patients with walnut allergy also have oral allergy syndrome in which they develop itching around their mouth and tongue since the walnut allergen is similar to tree pollen.
