Exercise in pregnanc: Exercise in pregnancy has been accepted as a positive thing as it makes labor easier and may make it easier to recover your pre pregancy weight. Late in pregnancy, the change in weight alters balance and makes some athletic activities difficult. Regarding running some concern has been raised regarding temperature elevations of the fetus in the first trimester as causing potential problems.

Not recommended.: Exercise is advisable during pregnancy. However, marathon running is considered rather extreme exercise. Furthermore, there is no required medical screening for one to run in a marathon (or half marathon). Caution is warranted during pregnancy to participate in more reasonable, moderate exercise.
