Make sure no cavity: Please go see a dentist to check if the pain originates from a tooth. If it does not come from a tooth, please inform your phycisian who diagnosed you with pmr of the jaw pain. Most likely it is related to the polymyalgia rheumatica and the phycisian can prescribe you the medication.

Medication may not : Medication may or may not be the answer. The real question is to correctly diagnose why you are having the jaw pain and then to treat that appropriately. There are many causes of jaw pain --some respond to medication some need other therapies.

Call doctor NOW: Jaw pain is an extremely serious issue in a patient with pmr. Giant cell arteritis (temporal arteritis) commonly causes jaw pain with chewing. Call your doctor or rheumatologist immediately.
