A member asked:

Feeling like a small pen tip is being tapped rapidly for 5-15s on the side of the foot and other areas, is this paresthesia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: This may be a minor nerve irritation from some sort of injury or shoe. Paresthesias will typically create numbness and tingling to an area of the foot, that is more persistent. See your podiatrist for proper treatment and diagnosis. Good luck.
