Very small increase?: Leeps are generally considered very safe procedures. It is unlikely to significantly increase your risk of preterm labor. The increase in preterm labor if present is certainly less than an additional 1% from the studies that we have seen. Overall, the risk of ptl is about 12%. Finally there is no reason to avoid the leep if in fact that is the right choice for you, however check with your doctor.
